guided rock climbing faq

what should i bring?

  • Sunscreen & Lip Balm: The sun’s exposure is strong up a high altitude.

  • Sunglasses

  • Hiking Boots or Closed Toed Shoes

  • Fleece Jacket or Warm Layer

  • Rain Jacket or Poncho

  • Water & Snacks: Stay hydrated and fueled up to play hard.

  • Day Pack: It’s nice to carry all of these items in a small backpack.

  • Hat or Beanie: This is optional and may also depend on the time of year you are climbing. Weather changes fast throughout the day. Be prepared for anything.

  • Warm Gloves: This is optional and may also depend on the time of year you are climbing. Weather changes fast throughout the day. Be prepared for anything.

  • Headlamp/Flashlight: Guide will advise if you need a headlamp. Mostly for Guided RMNP Alpine Climbs.

  • Camera: Optional.

  • Hiking Poles: Optional. Helps to distribute weight on knees.

What Should I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable, synthetic, loose fitting pants or stretchy spandex. No Cotton! Mountain weather is unpredictable, so be prepared for rain, sun, and cold weather. Do not hike in a brand new pair of boots, be sure to break them in first by wearing them around town for at least a full day.

what should i eat?

Food is important for both half and full day trips. We recommend a few light snacks for half day trips and a full nutritious lunch plus snacks for full day trips. Water is the most important item of all. On the Little Swiss Alps trip we will supply lunch, so please reach out with any dietary restrictions.

What if it rains?

Rock climbing in the rain isn’t much fun, we know this. If we get rained out halfway through the trip we will pro rate the trip and refund money back. Thunderstorms will shut us down immediately as well, no getting struck by lightning on our watch!

cancellations

If you cancel a trip for any reason up to 24 hours before your trip, you are entitled to a full refund minus the online fees. We cannot refund within 24 hours or for no shows on the day of the trip. If weather is bad, we will first try to reschedule and if we have to cancel, you will receive a full refund. We will pro-rate an outing for the time you missed on a trip.
